By accessing or using ResumeBoost, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the site or app.

ResumeBoost is an independent side project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by xAI (Grok) or any applicant tracking system vendor.

These terms apply to the ResumeBoost website and in-browser application. For how we handle data, see our Privacy Policy.

ResumeBoost is a local-first tool that helps you tailor resumes and cover letters using AI. You provide your own xAI API key; optimization requests are sent from your browser to xAI. ResumeBoost does not operate a backend database for your resume content and does not require an account.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of ResumeBoost at any time without notice.

You are responsible for:

Content you provide — Resumes, job descriptions, and other text you upload, paste, or generate. Only submit information you have the right to use.

Accuracy and decisions — Reviewing AI output before you use it in applications. You decide what to send to employers.

Your API key and costs — Keeping your xAI credentials secure and paying any charges on your xAI account.

Your device — Securing your browser, passphrase (if you use encrypted local storage), and local data.

ResumeBoost is a writing and formatting assistant, not a recruiter, attorney, or career counselor.

Optimized resumes, cover letters, keyword lists, tips, and ATS scores are produced by AI (Grok via your API key). They may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your situation.

ATS scores shown in ResumeBoost are AI-generated estimates for the job description you provided. They are not scores from a real employer ATS (Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, etc.) and do not guarantee interviews or hiring outcomes.

The model is instructed not to invent experience to match keywords, but you must verify that your final resume truthfully represents your background.

Disclaimer: AI outputs may contain errors. Review and edit all generated content before you use it in job applications or rely on it for other important decisions. ResumeBoost does not provide legal, medical, or financial advice.

You use AI-generated content at your own risk.

ResumeBoost relies on services we do not control, including xAI for AI features and, on the public site, Google Analytics for aggregate usage metrics.

Your use of xAI is subject to xAI's legal policies. ResumeBoost does not control xAI's availability, pricing, data practices, or model behavior.

We are not responsible for third-party outages, policy changes, or actions.

You agree not to:

Use ResumeBoost for any unlawful purpose or to process content you do not have rights to use.

Misrepresent your qualifications, experience, or identity in materials you intend to submit to employers.

Attempt to disrupt the site (e.g. automated abuse, security probing, or overloading infrastructure).

Reverse engineer or misuse the site to harm others or extract proprietary logic beyond normal browser use.

Imply that ResumeBoost, xAI, or any ATS vendor endorses you or your materials.

We may block access or cooperate with authorities if we believe these terms are violated, to the extent applicable for a static site with no user accounts.

ResumeBoost's name, branding, site design, and original code are owned by the project maintainers or their licensors. You may not copy or reuse them for a competing product without permission.

Your content remains yours. We do not claim ownership of resumes or job descriptions you provide.

AI-generated output is provided for your use in your job search. We do not guarantee exclusivity or freedom from similarity with content generated for other users.

ResumeBoost is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will improve hiring results.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The Last updated date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of ResumeBoost after an update means you accept the revised terms.
